Best panorama of the whole city. Go late afternoon for golden light over the Duomo.

Mercato Centrale

Food hall upstairs, fresh market downstairs. Great for a casual lunch and tasting.

Getting around the centre

Florence is compact and walkable. The climb to Piazzale Michelangelo is worth it; bus 12/13 goes up if you'd rather not walk.
